TEACHER BEHAVING BADLY?...FLOGS 4-YR OLD CHILD TO DEATH "FOR BEING STUBBORN"

TEACHER BEHAVING BADLY?...FLOGS 4-YR OLD FEMALE CHILD TO DEATH FOR BEING STUBBORNAKURE — DETECTIVES in OndoState have detained a primary school teacher, Alade Adebayo, for allegedly flogging to death a four-year-old female pupil Elizabeth Wanogha.

The deceased pupil was a student of a private primary school, Falaye Memorial Nursery and Primary School, located at Fanibi area in Akure metropolis.

The  teacher, according to report, accused the deceased of being stubborn in the class. He was said to have beaten the girl to a state of coma.

Cries from other pupils in the class reportedly attracted other teachers who rushed to the scene where they found that the girl had fainted.

She was said to have been rushed to a private hospital and was admitted but reportedly died later.

Police authorities, however, said that the pupil died two weeks after the beating by the suspect.

The father of the deceased, Mr Wanogha lodged a complaint at the Fanibi Police station, alleging that his daughter died  as a result of the injuries sustained from the severe beating by her teacher.

Following the complaint, the teacher was arrested for interrogation.

Contacted, the Police image maker, Wole Ogodo, confirmed that the teacher had been arrested.

Ogodo however said that people should not jump into conclusion that it was the beating which took place about two weeks earlier that led to the death of the pupil.

He pointed out that the autopsy will determine the cause of the pupil’s death.

Ogodo said that the suspect is being quizzed at the state Criminal Investigative Department, SCID.

He explained further that the deceased  was hospitalised immediately after the beating but died  two weeks after.

Ogodo  said that investigation into the death of the pupil continues adding that the findings would be made public.

The father of the deceased pupil insisted that the teacher should be prosecuted for murder.

Mr Wanogho who lived at Adebowale street Fanibi  vowed that the matter would be pursued to a logical conclusion to serve as deterrent to wicked teachers who vent their anger on innocent pupils put in their care.

He appealed to NGOs to take the matter up by ensuring that it was not swept under the carpet.

The proprietor of the school declined comment on the incident.

THIS LESBIAN TEACHER, 41, HAD A 5-YR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH A SCHOOLGIRL FROM AGE 14

Affair started after kissing her in a stationery cupboard

  • Rachel Speed taught science at Fairview High School in south Wales

  • She would have 'sleepovers' with the pupil and gave her expensive gifts

  • But Speed was dumped by text when the pupil went to university

  • Speed was convicted of two sexual offences, including indecent assault

  • She faces jail when sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court next month

A teacher was in a 'sordid' lesbian relationship with one of her pupils for five years, which started when she kissed the girl in a stationery cupboard when she was only 14.

Rachel Speed, 41, would pick the girl up in her car and drive her to her house, where they would have regular 'sleepovers'.

The couple showered together and would perform sex acts, while the victim was dressed in a corset and PVC hotpants, a court heard.

Speed, who had taught science at Fairview High School in Cwmbran, south Wales, for 15 years, carried on the relationship until the girl went to university.

She was then dumped by text after her victim met somebody new.

After they split up, she reported Speed to the police, who charged her with indecent assault and sexual activity while in a position of trust.

She was found guilty by a jury at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday, and was told by the judge to expect a prison sentence.

The girl's parents had found out about the relationship while it was happening, and made Speed promise to end it until their daughter was 21 years old.

Despite promising to do so, Speed continued to see the girl for as long as possible, and gave her expensive gifts including a car and an engagement ring.

Prosecutor Christopher Rees told her: 'You abused her trust while she was 14.

'You did not want her parents to know because then they would know your sordid little secret.

'You were clearly obsessed with her - even when she went to university.'

Speed agreed she would end the relationship until she was 21 or after she finished full time education - but she broke her promise.

The girl’s mother said: 'I felt sick and angry. My daughter was a child. How could she have her sleep over at her house?'
Deceitful: Speed promised the victim's parents to stop their relationship, but continued it anyway until she was dumped

The court heard how the relationship was uncovered when the girl's mother found an 'inappropriate' letter from Speed.

When they found out about the sleepovers, they went to Speed's house to collect items belonging to the victim. The court heard Speed, of Hengoed in the Rhymney Valley, South Wales told them: 'You're not going to like it but I love your daughter.'

After the couple broke up, the victim reported Speed, who was accused of indecent assault and sexual activity while in a position of trust.'

Speed denied the charges but was found guilty and warned she will be jailed next month.

Judge David Wynn Morgan told Speed: 'Be under no illusions, the only issue is the length of the sentence rather than its nature.'

Speed is still employed at Fairwater High School in Cwmbran, near Newport, until the council chiefs can conclude a process to terminate her contract.

A spokesman for Torfaen Council said: 'We apologise for the failure to protect this pupil during her time at the school.

WHY SHOULD A DRAMA TEACHER INTRODUCE HIS STUDENTS TO GENITAL PIERCING?...DID THAT COME FROM SHAKESPEARE?

Drama teacher is fired for taking three pupils to get their penises pierced after they saw HIS piercing while he showered

  • Pieter Oberholzer, who taught at a Pretoria school, said he was 'naive'

  • Two of the pupils were over 18 and one was almost 16

  • He was also found to have given boys penis-shaped pasta

A South African teacher fired after taking three pupils to get penis piercings has apologised, saying that he was 'stupid and naive'.

Pieter Oberholzer, 57, the former head of drama at Willowridge High School in Pretoria, was dismissed after taking three pupils - two of whom were over 18 and one who was almost 16 - to get the intimate piercings.

He said there was nothing sexual about the incident, adding that the boys involved wanted one after they saw his own penis ring while he was in the shower after swimming practice.

He told South African paper The Star: 'We were preparing for Midmar (Mile swimming race) and I had a shoulder injury so I went to shower to warm up.

'Two of the boys wanted to check on me and walked in while I was drying my hair and I immediately covered up.'

He said the pupils 'hounded him' for months about helping them before he finally decided to help them find a reputable piercing studio.

He added: 'I agree 100 percent that I should not have got involved, I was trying to make sure they were safe. The guys threatened to pierce themselves. I’m also terribly sorry for the stress it has caused my family and friends.'

A few days after the piercings took place he realised his mistake and informed the headteacher and the boys' parents.

None of the parents pressed charges but the incident was reported to the local education board and Oberholzer was sacked after a disciplinary hearing.

He was also found to have given some of his students penis-shaped pasta and allowing them to bunk classes, according to The Star.

Quebec teachers strip search students during math exam

SAINT-JEROME, QC – A school board north of Montreal has launched an internal investigation after school staff strip searched 28 high school students to find a cellphone during a year-end exam.

The board admits that staff at Cap-Jeunesse high school in Saint-Jerome, QC, “lacked judgment” for asking 28 Grade 10 students to remove their clothes when a phone went missing last week.

The students were ordered to put their phones on a teacher’s desk to prevent cheating during a math exam but one phone was unaccounted for, prompting teachers to order the strip search.

“They put us in a small room,” one teenage girl, who didn’t give her name, told QMI Agency. “(They said) ‘take off your bra, then raise your arms.’ They even tapped us on theSchool board spokeswoman Nadyne Brochu admits the teachers went too far.

The school where the search took place.

“It was a disproportionate action under the circumstances,” she said.

“These are not measures that are recommended by either the school or the school board.”

Brochu said the school principal was not told about the decision to conduct the strip search.

“In the heat of the action, the decision seemed the best,” she said. “Once officials heard what had happened, they immediately contacted the students’ parents to explain the situation.”

The board didn’t say if the teachers will face disciplinary action, saying only that “an administrative investigation is ongoing.”

Students will have an option to re-take the exam, says Brochu, who admits “the climate was not conducive to a good test.”

WHAT NIGERIAN SECONDARY STUDENTS NEED MOST ARE MENTORS/LIFE COACHES NOT “TEACHERS”

[caption id="attachment_5766" align="aligncenter" width="600"]WHAT NIGERIAN SECONDARY STUDENTS NEED ARE MENTORS NOT “TEACHERS”.THEY SHOULD GET OUT OF SCHOOLS AND LET LIFE COACHES TAKE OVER! our children in a poor state even at school!...and this pic is above the average![/caption]

A.INTRODUCTORY NOTES  TO  MENTORING OF STUDENTS AT MASON COLLEGE FESTAC

1.At one of our recent meetings it was stated that learning is no longer teacher-dependent. There are several ways students can be educated and these include

-Autonomous (Self) Studies or Independent Learning.

-Personalized learning supervised by a teacher.

-Guided self-studies or self-managed study based on certain guidelines provided by the school.

-Group studies managed by a teacher or the school with specific objectives covering individual students.

2.It was also stated that teachers need to see themselves as managers, facilitators, counselors or coaches for managing the time spent by students at school or even at home and not see themselves in the old images of their own teachers. As managers of students the following were identified as critical areas.

(a)   Reasoning skills (problem solving, critical thinking & reasoning)

(b)   Reflective skills

(c)    Self-appraisal skills

(d)   Social skills

3.Today our mentors have been given the job of managing students’ efforts on Assignments/Homework, Red or Revision Notes, Class Notes Completion, Novel Summaries as well as behavioral modes. They have been mandated to evaluate and provide scores that will further enhance the supervision of these students.

4.In doing these mentors cannot rely on just integrity checks/reports only. They need to be aware of techniques for Speedy Readings, Quick/Mental Tests, Reverse Learning Techniques, Seminar Techniques and Elements of Games Theory. It is when all these are put into consideration during remedial work that statistical review of reports can become more relevant for disciplinary purpose.

5.In order to assist our mentors, an introductory meeting was held and this was followed up with the distribution of a set of general and specific guidelines for scoring purposes. But to further enhance their work mentors need to be provided with some back-up information in relation to these tasks that will further make their evaluations more accurate. This is the reason for the collection of write-ups usually provided for their tasks.

The write-ups are made up as follows:

a.Notes on general remedial work which cover several topics from time management, career counseling and how to conduct research work for students’ projects etc.

b.Notes on Study and Exam Techniques, Red Notes Classroom Psychology, Home Work or Class Assignments, etc.

c.Notes about volume, binding and completion of class notebooks, textbooks and other academic tools which must be possessed and used properly by students.

d.Notes on Maths/English/Jamb Clinics or Seminars. It is, however, realized that not all mentors can participate actively in these sectors.

e.Notes on  related activities that could provide background information  for specialist counseling of students

Hopefully, mentors will not only see these notes as helpful for their roles but will mentally "tune-in" and become personal beneficiaries too.

The second and third parts of this write-up will follow within 24 hrs...please come back for more...
