HAS APC ANY REAL CHANCE OF BEATING JONATHAN IN 2015?

10 REASONS WHY JONATHAN MAY CONTINUE AS PRESIDENT AFTER 2015

president jonathan

Are you one of those believing that President Jonathan will not contest in 2015? Or have you been sucked in too by silly statements such as  the one made by a northern political lightweight that “the north will rise against Jonathan”. Please stop being fooled. Lets move a bit forward in the way we analyze  the likely future of our dear country.Let us be more realistic with ourselves in order to improve general discourse and perhaps influence the turn of events in our motherland.

This write-up is neither for or against President Jonathan. The points listed can be useful for or against our president. So if you belong to either side of the fence please feel free to express it the way you see it.

Thank you

WHY  JONATHAN’S PRESIDENCY MAY OUTLAST 2015

1.The issue of whether he has spent 2 terms or not has not been resolved legally. If two terms equal 8 yrs there should be no election in 2015 until he has spent 8yrs.On the other hand some might argue that each election is for 4 yrs of a presidency no matter how many occupied the seat within the period. We might be looking at another Akinjide “two thirds” case on our hands. If not resolved now,History has shown that the Nigerian Supreme Court hardly decides against the interest of the incumbent President!

2.Northern politicians INCLUDING THOSE ON THE NEW PDP  will be bought over eventually. The governors who have spent two terms can be promised ministerial or ambassadorial appointments. Those who are going to seek for second terms might consider it safer to stay with a rolling train. Once these governors are trapped the battle is won for Jonathan.

3. The South-Eastern politicians are not seriously preparing to challenge Jonathan. Those who are making noise about 2015 presidency for that zone are very few anyway and will easily be “settled”

4.Opposition parties within and without PDP led by Atiku,Buhari and Tinubu have no hope of unseating an incumbent president. They are too many miles apart ideologically and would be loaded by PDP  pretenders or spies anyway before they can understand themselves. All their “strategies” will always be on PDP tables within 24 hours. As for Atiku,PDP by now knows how to handle his case and that of IBB.In reality OBJ only has a nuisance political weight. He has no real base to use to challenge Jonathan. In any case Anenih has been rescucitated to provide an alternate to him.

5.The PDP is made up of people with the same capitalist ideology. It does not matter whether they are from the north or south.Their interest is not really in geography or ethnicity. It is in the languages of naira, dollars and pounds sterling. It was so during NPN days and so shall it always be.

6.The armed forces have been “scattered” by locations, appointments and modern technology. If a coup takes place today in Abuja it is possible to  have 3 to 4 dissenting units all over the country with access to radio,tv,social media to counter such a coup.

7.The “rebels” or “freedom fighters” from the delta will rise up again to defend the pot of soup they are presently licking.Nigeria may therefore step backwards by another 8 yrs.Or do you think Jonathan is a fool by keeping the group “handy”?. In addition, the Ijaw nation will likely rise up once again as it did during the fuel price increase to defend their son and keep him on seat.

8.Jonathan so far has craftily avoided making deep enemies of any particular section of the country in line with Yar’adua policies and very much unlike OBJ who created eternal enemies for himself through military policies and styles of governance. Many of those who voted for him in some sections of the country might see him as a lesser evil even if they cannot identify anything positive about him.The Achilles heel of APC MAY LIE IN THEIR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR 2015!

9.But is it true that there is nothing positive about Jonathan? Will the power supply situation fail to improve  before 2015?. Well we may have to leave each individual to determine what his/her priorities are to decide whether some sample of goodness is attachable to Jonathan or not.But the south-west may support him to some extent once the light situation improves.

10.My last and most important point is that INEC ,meaning Prof.Jega will rather prefer to work with him rather than againsthim (will you bite the hand feeding you so well?). So where is the hope for Buhari in 2015? It is locked up in a political suitcase.Like those of most Nigerians.

WHITE HOUSE SET TO IGNORE PIERS MORGAN PETITION!

TO BE TREATED LIKE SECESSIONIST PETITIONS

Given the fact that the Obama administration has failed to respond to dozens of petitions advocating states secede from the union, it seems almost inevitable that the White House will also ignore the petition to deport Piers Morgan for his rhetorical assault on the constitutional rights of American citizens.

The petition to deport Morgan for his call to disarm Americans in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting, originated by Infowars, has garnered viral media attention and a total of over 80,000 signatures, well beyond the 25,000 threshold that mandates a White House response within 30 days.

However, a brief investigation into which petitions the Obama administration has actually responded to confirms that the White House merely cherry picks those it wishes to address and completely ignores others, violating its own rules.

For example, the petition for Texas to secede from the union reached the threshold to warrant a comment from the administration on November 12 but has still not been addressed 45 days later. Dozens of similar petitions from other states also passed the threshold but have been ignored, despite the total number of signatures for all states equaling well over a million.

In contrast, petitions calling on Obama to enact gun control measures in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, only three of which totaled over 25,000 signatures, were addressed within days.

Other petitions that have received relatively few signatures, such as one calling to digitize federal records, have also been responded to despite getting nowhere near the 25,000 signature benchmark.

In October last year, the White House responded to a petition entitled, “Actually take these petitions seriously instead of just using them as an excuse to pretend you are listening,” with a post by ‘Special Assistant to the President’ Macon Phillips which asserted, “We’re listening. Seriously.”

However, the failure to respond to the overwhelmingly popular secession issue, while responding to others almost immediately, proves that the White House is merely abusing the ‘We The People’ process to bolster its own policy agenda while sidelining any issue that asks genuine questions of the Obama administration.

The administration is using delphi technique manipulation to hoodwink Americans into thinking they are an engaged part of the political discourse when in reality the whole petition process is a fraud because the White House only responds to what it wants to and ignores the questions that the majority of the American people want addressed.

The ‘We the People’ section of the White House website is billed as “your voice in our government,” and has been cited as another example of the government’s drive for “transparency,” yet it has been proven to be nothing more than just another public relations mouthpiece for the Obama administration to promote its own pre-planned political agenda.

Despite the likelihood that the White House will ignore the petition, it is still important because significant media coverage of the controversy has drawn people’s attention to the fact that foreigners are now openly lecturing the American people about their own rights. The petition has also been a key exercise in using the first amendment to defend the second amendment and a reminder that Americans will not tolerate any attempt to eviscerate the right to keep and bear arms.

WHY STUDY AND HOW TO STUDY ( EXTRACTED AND RE-COMPILED BY EDUPEDIA)

A. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY  YOU HAVE TO STUDY THEN THINK CAREFULLY ABOUT THESE QUOTATIONS)

1. Education is a companion which no misfortune can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate, no despotism can enslave. At home, a friend, abroad, an introduction, in solititude a solace, and in society, an ornament. It chastens vice, it guides virtue, it gives at once, grace and government to genius. Without it what is a man? A splendid slave, a reasoning savage’- Joseph Addison

2. ‘He that has knowledge spareth his words’- Proverbs 17:27

3. Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive, easy to govern but impossible to enslave’ – Henry Brougham.

4. ‘Studies serve for delight, for ornament and for ability’ –Francis Bacon.

5. It is purely a matter of skill

Which all may attain, if they will

But every jack.

He must study the knack

If he wants to make sure of his Jill’ -    Sir William Gilbert.

B. HOW TO STUDY?/GET YOURSELF BETTER ORGANIZED!

6. The first step is to decide to get your acts together and organize your life. Organizing your life can improve your success in school, help you avoid cramming or engaging in examination malpractices. It will also help persuade your parents and teachers that you are becoming more mature and of good judgment. From this you might earn more rights and privileges too.

7. The next step after taking the decision to get organized is to find a quiet place free from distraction (such as GSM or TV). That is, find and choose a place where you don’t normally do other things. For example if you study on your bed you will start thinking about falling asleep. Make sure your study table or corner has enough light to avoid straining your eyes. Also use a straight backed chair and table instead of a sofa. Keep certain things on the table, to make your studies more efficient such as pencil, biros, eraser, marker, writing paper, cellotape, pencil sharpener, rubber band, ruler, stapler, paperclip, calculator, a pair of scissor, and cardboard. Having a computer at home could also have its advantages. But there are other disadvantages that could come with it. So be careful and do not let it distract you with games or breaking news. It can also break down after you have become so reliant on it. Another problem could also be electricity supply.

8. As earlier mentioned you need to organize your time with a personal time-table (PTT).  A PTT is a must and should be carried with you always (classes, after school activities, at home, at weekends etc.) Experts have given the following suggestions for planning a personal time-table or for time management.

9.  Set your priorities after making a list of everything you do in a week.

10. Include time for some recreation.

11. Be flexible. Things do change; Your PTT is not to be carved in stone.

12. Don’t over schedule yourself. Look closely at distractions you can do without. Block them out of the PTT.

13.  Plan time for getting yourself organized each day. That is, plan a few minutes each day to renew your PTT and confirm if it is working well for you.

14. Find and use little chunks of time to read e.g. 15 minutes, 20 minutes or 40 minutes before classes, or while waiting for food .

15. Don’t procrastinate at studies. These are always things including your body that might try to discourage you and make you postpone your studies. Our bodies are not always our friends and we need to fight and conquer them.

16. Note that completing assignments or doing homework is a major part of studies. It is not an option, it is a must do. Listen carefully to your tutors when they give you homework. Don’t get yourself into the habit of giving shameful excuses for not doing your homework on time. Know that you need to refer to your notebook, recommended and supplementary textbooks too. Again, stop doing your homework in front of TV or with your phone cells etc. distraction like these will always be problematic. Don’t copy answers from your friends early in the morning at school either.

17. You must also plan to succeed. Successful people do not become successful by accident or by luck. They plan to succeed. They recognized problems that  get in their way and come up with  personal solutions.

18. Above all refer to the last two letters and ask our Heavenly Father to give you grace and show more mercy on you and all of us, your family and our organization. I know you have said AMEN to all that. Or haven’t you?

ANOTHER LETTER TO MY CHILD IN A NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

ANOTHER LETTER TO MY CHILD IN A NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOLMy Dearest Child,Education will take place throughout your life from the cradle up to the last moment on the face of the earth. As you learn everyday and at every moment of your life, its important that you are careful of the type of education you get.

Your adolescent years constitute that stage in life where you learn the most and pick most of your habits that will take you through life. So, it is important to be careful of the type of things you imbibe.

“Show me your friends  and I will tell you the type of person  you are”  is a popular adage that shows that you will be judged by the type of friends you keep. If, for instance, you move around with students who smoke and drink, people will generally assume that you engage in these vices too. Even if you have not been drinking or smoking in the past, there is a high chance that you will eventually join them as bad company corrupts good morals. It is therefore important that you keep good company especially in school. Keep friends that will challenge your intellect and spur you to read more.

Some students are in the habit of reading only when the examinations are drawing near. This is very bad as you will only read to pass and not to gain knowledge of that subject. The best way to understand a subject or course is to read through your notes after lectures and then, read more on it in recommended textbooks and journals.

Also, cultivate the habit of reading ahead of class, if the syllabus is available to you. This makes it possible for you to ask constructive questions for greater understanding when the teacher/lecture finally introduces the topic in class.

You also need to be knowledgeable about events happening around you. Read local newspapers and  magazines. Watch the T.V for news as well: although many adolescent do not seem to be interested in news but in movies and reality shows.

The internet is a very viable and useful tool for you. There are lots of information you can use through the web, from academics to social issues. Make it a point of duty to surf the internet for useful material at least twice a week. Be careful, though, of the type of information you access. Browsing through pornographic sites is bad and you should not engage in such acts. You could fall into the hands of sexual predators, who reach out to youths through the internet for sexual purposes. It is also important that you abstain from hacking, gambling, fraud, sending of viruses and the illegal use of software or other copyright materials.

It is good to educate yourself, but make sure it is the good and desirable one which will make you a better person today, and a productive one tomorrow for the benefit of yourself, family, nation and the world.

I shall be writing you another letter very soon.We are all well at home and praying for your success at school.Remember the child of whom you are and keep yourself out of any trouble.

Your Daddy

12 FACTORS FOR SUCCESS IN A NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

LETTER TO MY CHILD FOR SUCCESS IN A NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

[caption id="attachment_1402" align="aligncenter" width="500"]14 FACTORS FOR SUCCESS OF A STUDENT IN A NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL mason college students on excursion to vanguard newspapers[/caption]

My Dear Child,

I give you good tidings from your mother, brothers and sisters at home. Also from our good friends, LAGOS BOOKS CLUB and their parent company EDUPEDIA ASSOCIATES. Last week I discussed part of what worries me about your education/studies with them and these are the notes they willingly and freely asked me to pass to you. Please go through them as I intend to have more discussions with you for implementing many of their suggestions. My son, I pray God will bless them into your heart mightily. Amen. Please note that I added my comments  in a few paragraphs  though.

NOTES OF EDUPEDIA ASSOCIATES/LAGOSBOOKSCLUB

1. Self-assessment. There are some hard questions you need address to yourself such as “Do i go to school to please my parents or just to be with my friends?” or “What exactly am i attending school for?”

2. Manner of speech. A good way to show your educational level is the way and manner you speak .Firstly, what  would you say at the morning assembly if you are, without any previous notice, asked to give a short exhortation to fellow students on moral issues? Secondly, how are you likely to contribute to class discussions or class presentations? These might be occasions for you to display your ability to speak eloquently or display your level of education. Thirdly, what about discussions with tutors or management of the school?

3. Improvement of Vocabulary. To improve and display the quality of your education you need to improve/increase your vocabulary, learn the art of public speaking, know the rules of public debate and of pidgin English which is now very common in Nigeria. One way to improve your vocabulary is to read novels, magazines and newspapers. The frequent use of dictionaries and thesauruses need to be emphasized too. A novel summary scheme based on an efficient use of a good library or membership of one such as  the LAGOS BOOKS CLUB will be helpful. (PREMIUM SERVICES)

4. Listening in class. You also need to cultivate the habit of listening to your tutors and what they say. Apart from passing exams, your purpose is to get real education and the root of education is to be found in your listening habits. Experts have listed a ”listening habits inventory and listening facts” which Edupedia promised to make available to you in future.

5. Completion of Class Notebooks. Incomplete class notes, rough-looking notebooks, dirty notebooks  are danger signals that things are not going well with your studies. There are ways of taking notes to get you out of trouble which your school ought to teach you. I assume they must have but are you paying attention to notes completion sessions at all? There is a NOTES IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM  by Edupedia which i shall soon ask them to either teach you personally or  proposed to your school (if need be) (PREMIUM SERVICES)

6. Handwriting. It is surprising to note that the problem of many students can be traced to their handwriting or writing styles. Bad handwriting ultimately leads to spelling mistakes and unpleasant and sometimes annoying responses from tutors or examiners. You must therefore find ways to improve your handwriting. Writing styles are usually cultivated over a period of time.

7. Plan whatever you write. You must also learn how to plan your writing long before the examination days, write your first draft, then revise and edit what you have written. You must learn the art of developing words into sentences then into paragraphs and then into essays, stories, articles or poems. You must also learn how to write research reports, lesson notes, etc. Edupedia can also provide additional and more detailed guidance on this. (PREMIUM SERVICES)

8. Master your spelling demons to be a better and stylish writer.

9.Assignments/Study Techniques/Red Notes & Salvation Lines. You need to master the techniques of study and doing assignments. You must make some effort at improving your concentration when reading and you should find a way to jog your memory later about what you have read. To do this, two techniques called Red Notes and Salvation Lines can also be provided by Edupedia which you might find very useful. (PREMIUM SERVICES).After mastering study techniques a good student must also spend some time in mastering various examination (internal and external) techniques which can be useful in the exam hall. Spend some time to ponder on the write-ups of techniques being provided free of charge by Edupedia on this forum. Red notes, I am told, are convertible to Salvation lines when exam draw near. And from what I gathered, students need no longer feel the need for examination malpractices during school and national exams especially if Edupedia is allowed to provide them Weekend Comprehensive Mentoring Services. (PREMIUM SERVICES)

10.School survival tools. You may also wish to ask yourself what tools a good student must have in order to survive school. See a list  we have provided for reference below.

11. Computer/Web Studies You also need to show more interest in computer/web studies. Why? There is more education now on science, technology, finance, economics, life-skills etc on the web than anywhere else in the world. The internet is now the biggest school/classroom that ever existed.

12. A 7- Day Personal Time Table .Which will include a Personal Study Plan and School Time Table (Time Management Chart). Edupedia can provide further guidance on this. (PREMIUM SERVICES)

TOOLS FOR ACADEMIC SURVIVAL IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL

a.Textbooks / Writing Material / Maths Set / Exercise Book / Drawing Books / Science Or Practical Note Books/ Assignment Note Books /Red Notes Book And Salvation Lines Note Book / Maths Continuous Practice Notebook / Remedial Studies Note Book / Novel Summary Note Book.(PREMIUM SERVICES)

b. A file containing all your past examination and test scripts with their past question papers for future reference.

c.. Different write-ups prepared  on Study and Examination techniques by your school.

d.. Frequent use of your school library or  or a reputable external library like the LAGOS BOOKS CLUB.

e. Use  Encyclopedia Britannica CDs, related subject software available in the markets and frequent reference to educational Websites such as How to Study. Org.

Your mother, siblings and I pray each day for your success in school towards becoming a responsible citizen of our fatherland. By God’s grace you shall be part of the new crop of intelligent hard-working youth Nigeria is empowering to give us a better image in all nations on this planet. Please face your studies seriously and revert back to me as soon as you can on any of the issues raised above. God bless you.

Your father.

WAYS TO PROVIDE MORE FUNDING FOR NIGERIAN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS

PROVIDING  LIFE JACKETS  OF FUNDING FOR LGAS/LCDAS  PRIMARY

SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA (AN ADDRESS TO ALL CARING CHAIRMEN)

[caption id="attachment_1585" align="aligncenter" width="300"]WAYS TO PROVIDE MORE FUNDING FOR NIGERIAN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS mason foundation school students....there is no reason for the great gulf between them and public school students...[/caption]

(A). PREAMBLE/ASSUMPTIONS

1. All protocols observed. Kindly let this presentation be in a summarized format to focus clearly on what is most important.

2. We all know that government funds whether from national, state, ETF or World Bank sources shall never be adequate for funding primary schools in your domains. Hence there is a need to tap or source funds or voluntary donations in cash or in kind from within and outside your domain through those linked to or resident within. One obvious advantage of this method is its ability to perpetuate itself no matter the party in power.

3.The overall aim for sourcing these funds shall be the reduction of the gap between public and private schools in the LGA. It will at the same time aim to overturn the unnoticed trend in the country whereby 3 classes of citizens as identified by us are being generated through the educational system.

4.In making our proposals we will itemize the needs of primary schools in your domains which if fulfilled can help dissipate the feeling of inferiority complex among public primary school students. It is a well-known fact that the best teachers and probably the best students are more often than not to be found in public primary schools.

5.With local participation in funding it shall be expected that more interest shall be shown by your local residents  in the education of their children.

6.However, there is a need for determination of purpose and political sagacity to implement these proposals once they are accepted wholesale or partly. Chief Obafemi Awolowo was told that his educational objectives were too far-fetched and not achievable. Well, we are all witnesses to the fact that history proved him right. By now it must be obvious to the you Chairmen how difficult it can be to implement some programs no matter the good intentions and careful thoughts put in place for them.

7.Kindly note that our proposals will not dabble into things which your LGA cannot modify or cancel. These include overall national educational policies, curriculum arrangement, subject schemes of work etc. But surely something can be done about quality and control of educational inputs for our children. Specifically, your LGAs can  do something to improve homework/classroom assignment, tests, performance reports etc.

8.We have therefore divided the needs of students in our primary schools as follows:

(a)      Hardware-related (fixed assets) needs

(b)      Academic-related needs

(c)      Co-curricula-related needs

(d)     Personal-related needs

(e)      Remedial-related needs

These are listed in detail below… but we do understand that conditions are not the same all over Nigeria and that what is desirable in one LGA might not be implementable in others.

(B)     WHAT ARE THE NEEDS OF OUR CHILDREN?

(1)   Hardware Needs

- Renovation of existing but damaged infrastructure

- Provision of additional classrooms and relevant furniture

- Provision of teaching and educational charts, audio/visual equipment

- Provision of Library services, textbooks, and reference books

- Provision of basic science rooms

- Provision of computers/printers

- Provision of rooms for arts and craft

- Provision of games and sporting facilities or playgrounds, indoor and ball games

- Landscaped environment demarcated properly into walk ways with stones, playing fields and areas of greenery made   up of grass and/or  flowers to provide a  conducive atmosphere for schooling

-  Provision of perimeter fences and fenced gates

- Provision of secured storage facilities for keeping school assets

- Provision of cafeteria, health bay, water supply and toilet facilities

- Provision of SKOLEE buses marked with the LGA’s names

- Provision of 5KVA generators for special programs or for pumping water

- Provision of musical instruments.

(2)  Academic Needs

- Manpower training and staff incentives

- Extra manpower needs for staffing additional programs being  proposed  especially under remedial needs

- Implementation and follow-up of home work, class assignments, lateness and absentee records.

- Preparation and delivery of monthly/terminal reports to parents.

- Inter-school competitions covering debate, essay writing, quiz, maths, english etc.

-Setting up of academic-related students’ clubs

- Scholarship schemes based on examinations administered by the Education Department of your LGA. This will be for admission into reasonably-priced   private secondary schools within the   domain with   up to 60% reduction in fees granted by the schools to the LGA

- Educational Tours and Excursions.

(3)   Co-curricula-related Needs

- Inter-school games and sports competitions IN DECENT SPORTING     ARENAS

- Inter-school competitions covering choral/singing, dancing, drama as    well as use of musical equipment

- Setting up of students’ co-curricula-related clubs including those of Man-O-War, Scouting, Red Cross, Green Movement etc.

(4)  Personnel-Related Needs

- Well-tailored uniforms not looking like those produced in war-torn zones

- Implementation of appropriate shoe/sock schemes coupled with proper hairstyles

-  Monitoring of personal hygiene, through uniforms, finger nails etc

-  Implementation of a mentoring system for those about to take national examinations

5. Remedial –related Needs

This is more or less guidance and counseling directed at those taking external examinations. It involves the use of extension classes on Saturdays between the hours of 10am to 3pm. (unheard of in public schools you might say.Maths and English classes can also be followed up with motivational discussions targeting the inferiority complex mode that is usually in existence amongst them. Parent Days should also target school leavers. Parents need to be presented with reports covering many performance indices. And these can be provided by us. Please let us also note that Parents’ Days are not to be equated to PTA days or events.

(C)  SO HOW DO WE FINANCE/ IMPLEMENT ALL THESE?

 (1)  BY FUNDS GENERATION

(a)  Setting up of an overall Educational Foundation for your LGA with launching to be done by the State Governor, Commissioner of Education and various political leaders from all parties. Leaders of industry and Commerce from the private sector and high net worth individuals from the society etc should also be invited.

(b)  Setting up of Local Management Committees for schools or groups of schools.

(c) Reaching softly to private school proprietors in the domain for assistance or adoption of public schools as initiated by Dr. (Mrs.) Ezekwesili when she was the Federal Minister of Education. Other organizations which can be useful are Rotary and Lion clubs, International Society of Women etc especially for books and health bay facilities. NGO’s and Foundations such as those of General Danjuma, Dr Dangote and other businessmen will also be helpful.

(2)   BY EXPENDITURE REDUCTION

(a)Your LGA should consider acquiring SKOLEE buses either brand new or through the State Government by conversion from their old fleet.

(b) Instead of buying some of the hardware for each school your LGA may consider opening one or two multipurpose educational centers which Edupedia has named CENTRES OF LIGHT. If well equipped they can be operated with a time table which shall be integrated with the time table of school leavers in each school so that those from eachschool can be the center once or twice in a month for computer education, ball/indoor games, library facilities such as novels comics, newspapers, magazines and audio/visual programmes such as educational films and computer games.

(c) But if the CENTER OF LIGHT cannot accommodate sporting facilities, each school can have paved centres within for ball games such as basketball and volley ball and five-a-side football.

(d) NYSC graduates can also be used to fill the staffing gaps which are likely to be created by remedial needs and relevant programs On the other hand, your LGA can institute a volunteer corp of young school leavers properly briefed by the consultant for the project (EDUPEDIA) to fill in the gap. Those used might be given token stipend for the job as long as they are made to understand what volunteer service really implies from the beginning. Above all, EDUPEDIA can be used for implementation of these programs at a reasonable cost. Of course all these have to be done hand-in-hand with the Education Department of your LGA

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully

EDUPEDIA ASSOCIATES

Managing Consultant

NOTE:…kindly refer this write-up to the LGA chairman closest to you…thanks

10 REASONS JAMB/GCE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SCHEMES BY LGAs WILL NEVER WORK!

[caption id="attachment_855" align="aligncenter" width="399"]10 REASONS GCE EMPOWERMENT SCHEMES BY LGAs WILL NEVER WORK! LGAs/LCDAs...pretending academic empowerment...who is deceiving whom?[/caption]

1…youths are from different backgrounds with different personal needs…but most of those who conduct these

tutorials do not target personal needs….

2…schemes of work subject-by-subject for the period of 3 to 6 months used are not strategic…

3…what WAEC and NECO examiners really want are hardly ever really identified…most times tutorials are given mindlessly…

4…attendance by students are neither strictly monitored nor reported back to LGAS/LCDAS …parents hardly ever know what is really going on…

5…most students use lecture periods for social networking because those in charge never put disciplinary measures in place…

6…feedback per student showing improvements achieved or otherwise are neither compiled nor submitted to LGAS and parents…

7…many of the so-called youth empowerment schemes are only money-making sources for some LGAS/LCDAS officials …IN SOME CASES THESE OFFICIALS TAKE THEIR CHAIRMEN TO THE CLEANERS TOO!…

8…deliberate steps are not taken to discourage students from sharpening their malpractices skills…in many cases students see these so-called lectures as irrelevant and useless…reasons why students refuse to read or prepare for exams are never really tackled leading to repeated mass failures every 6 months…

9…tutors used for tutorials are usually of low quality for maximization of profits by organizers…particularly they lack even the basic skills for educational support services…

10…relevant LGA officials directed by their chairmen to provide over sight supervision hardly do their jobs or exert appropriate authority in getting the job done…

PIERS MORGAN REACTS... "I MAY DEPORT MYSELF IF YOU DON’T CHANGE"

Speaking out: Piers Morgan angered 90,000 gun-lovers in the US when he spoke out about gun control

I MAY DEPORT MYSELF SAYS PIERS MORGAN
I have fired guns only once in my life, on a stag party to the Czech capital Prague a few years ago when part of the itinerary included a trip to an indoor shooting range. For three hours, our group were let loose on everything from Magnum 45 handguns and Glock pistols, to high-powered  ‘sniper’ rifles and pump-action shotguns.

It was controlled, legal, safe and undeniably exciting. But it also showed me, quite demonstrably, that guns are killing machines.

Rarely has the hideous effect of a gun been more acutely laid bare than at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, two weeks ago – when a deranged young man called Adam Lanza murdered 20 schoolchildren aged six and seven, as well as six adults, in a sickening rampage.

The Sandy Hook massacre brought back such horribly vivid memories for me of Dunblane, the worst mass shooting in Britain in my lifetime.

I was editor of the Daily Mirror on that day back in 1996 and will never forget the appalling TV footage of those poor Scottish mothers sprinting to the small primary school, many already howling with anguish at the thought of what might have happened to their five-year-old children.

It was a slaughter so senseless, so unspeakable, that it reduced even hard-bitten news reporters, including me, to tears.

And as I watched the parents at Sandy Hook racing to try to find their children, I saw the same images, the same terror, that engulfed Dunblane. And I felt the same tears welling up.

Then, 16 five-year-old children were slain in their classroom. Now, 20  six- and seven-year-olds. Beautiful young lives snuffed out before they had a chance to fulfil any of their potential. It made me so gut-wrenchingly angry.

I have four children. And I still remember the blind terror I felt when I lost my son Stanley, then aged two, for half an hour at a cricket match on a field surrounded by a small running creek. I was sure he’d drowned. But I was lucky: he finally emerged from where he’d been hiding – big, cheeky grin intact.

Every parent has a similar story. To even try to conceive of how you would feel if your child was shot multiple times in the head by a Rambo madman at school is just impossible. I honestly don’t know how you would ever carry on with life.

But my anger turned to blind rage when I saw the reaction to this hideous massacre in America.

Sales of the specific weapon used, an AR-15 military-style assault rifle, rocketed at gun stores all over America in the days following the Sandy Hook shooting.

And the country’s biggest gun supplier, Brownells, said it sold more high-capacity bullet magazines in three days than it normally did in three-and-a-half years.

What is behind this apparently insane behaviour? The answer is, mainly, fear.

The well-organized, richly funded, vociferous pro-gun lobby were straight out, on my CNN show and many other media outlets, declaring that the only way those schoolchildren would have survived is if their teachers had been armed. It’s been their answer to every mass shooting.

After the shootings at a cinema in Aurora, Colorado, in July – where 70 people were hit, the worst victim-count in such an incident in US history, and 12 people died – sales of guns in the state rose by a staggering 41 per cent in the following month as people bought into the theory that if everyone in the theater had been armed too, they’d have stopped the shooter. Can you imagine the scene as 200 people pulled out guns and started blazing away in a dark theater?

The gun-lobby logic dictates that the only way to defend against gun criminals is for everyone else to have a  gun, too. Teachers, nurses, clergymen, shop assistants, cinema usherettes – everyone must be armed.

To me, this is a warped, twisted logic that bears no statistical analysis and makes no sense. Do you fight drug addiction with more cocaine? Alcoholism with more Jack Daniel’s? Of course not.

But woe betide anyone who dares suggest this. In the days following Sandy Hook, I interviewed a number of gun-rights representatives and grew increasingly furious as they  trotted out these hackneyed old  disingenuous lines.

Finally, I erupted at one of them, a man with the unfortunate name of Larry Pratt, who runs the Gun Owners of America lobbying group.

‘You,’ I eventually declared, ‘are an unbelievably stupid man.’

And that was the catalyst for the full wrath of the gun lobby to crash down on my British head.

A petition was created on an official White House website demanding my deportation for ‘attacking the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution’. This, of course, is the one that alludes to an American’s ‘right to bear arms’.

The concerted effort to get me thrown out of the country – which has so far gathered more than 90,000 signatures – struck me as rather ironic, given that by expressing my opinion I was merely exercising my rights, as a legal US resident, under the 1st Amendment, which protects free speech.

But no matter.

This gun debate is an ongoing war of verbal attrition in America – and I’m just the latest target, the advantage to the gun lobbyists being that I’m British, a breed of human being who burned down the White House in 1814 and had to be forcefully deported en masse, as no American will ever be allowed to forget – Special Relationship notwithstanding.

It’s no exaggeration to say that America’s unique fondness for guns pretty much got cemented by hatred of us Brits and the War of Independence. But the main reason the more fervent gun-rights activists give is a fear of their own US federal government using its army to impinge on their freedom. The problem is that America’s historical love of guns means the country is now awash with them – and with gun death.

The bare statistics say it all. There are 311 million people in the United States and an estimated 300 million guns in circulation. (Between four million and seven million new firearms are manufactured in the US every year.)

Take out children from the population figure, and that’s comfortably more than one gun per person.

Each year, on average, 100,000 Americans are shot with a gun. Of these, over 31,000 are fatalities, 11,000 of them murders and 18,000 suicides. More than a million people have been killed with guns in America since 1968 when Dr Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated.

The US firearm murder rate is 19.5 times higher than the 22 next most populous, high-income countries in the world. And a staggering 80 per cent of firearm deaths in the combined 23 countries occur in America.

My campaign against America’s gun laws didn’t begin two weeks ago when Adam Lanza committed his carnage. It began a week before I went on air for CNN, in January 2011. A US Congresswoman called Gabby Giffords was shot in the head by another deranged young man at an outdoor event in Tucson, Arizona, and miraculously survived. Six others, including a nine-year-old girl, were murdered.

Hitting back: Morgan has responded to the growing petition with a series of tweets

It was a horrifying incident but, to my astonishment, nothing happened as a result. A week or so of debate and furrowed brows, and everyone went on with life.

Since then, I’ve watched in despair as the volume of gun-related massacres has escalated. (Six of America’s 12 worst-ever mass shootings have occurred since 2007, when I first came to America to work as a judge on America’s Got Talent.) And I’ve been shocked at how America’s politicians have been cowed into a woeful, shameful virtual silence by the gun lobbyists and the all-powerful National Rifle Association in particular.

The NRA targets pro-gun-control politicians on every rung of the political system and spends a fortune ensuring they either don’t get elected or get unelected. It’s been a concerted, ruthless and highly successful campaign. And to those, like me, who stand up to them, they sneer: ‘You don’t know anything about guns. Keep quiet.’

Well, I do know a bit about guns, actually. My brother’s a lieutenant colonel in the British Army and has served tours of duty in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. My sister married a colonel who trained Princes William and Harry at Sandhurst. My uncle was a major in the Green Howards.

My argument with guns is not based on some universal, pathological hatred of them. I’m not a pacifist. Guns win necessary wars and defeat tyrannical regimes like the Nazis.

Nor do I have a problem with those who use guns for hunting or for sport. I also understand, and respect, how there is an inherent national belief in America, based on their understanding of the 2nd Amendment, that everyone should be allowed to have a gun at home for the purposes of self-defense.

But where I have a big problem is when the unfortunately ambiguous wording of the 2nd Amendment is twisted to mean that anyone in America can have any firearm they want, however powerful, and in whatever quantity they want.

This has led to the absurd scenario where I can’t legally buy six packets of Sudafed in an American supermarket, or a chocolate Kinder egg, or various French cheeses, because they are all deemed a health risk.

Yet I can saunter into Walmart – America’s version of Tesco – and help myself to an armful of AR-15 assault rifles and magazines that can carry up to 100 bullets at a time.

That weapon has now been used in the last four mass shootings in America – at the Aurora cinema, a shopping mall in Oregon, Sandy Hook school, and the most recent, a dreadful attack on firemen in New York.

The AR-15 looks and behaves like a military weapon and should be confined to the military and police force. No member of the public has any need for a death machine that can fire up to six rounds a second when modified and can clear a 100-bullet magazine (as used in Aurora) within a minute.

The only apparent reason anyone seems to offer up is that using such weapons is ‘fun’. One gun-rights guy I interviewed last week even said admiringly that the AR-15 was ‘the Ferrari of guns’.

Well, I’m sorry, but ‘fun’ is just not a good enough excuse any more. Not when children are being killed by gunfire all over America.

President Obama seems to agree it’s time for action. After four years of doing precisely nothing about  gun control in America, he finally snapped after Sandy Hook and said he’s keen to pursue a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. And he wants a closure of the absurd loopholes that mean 40 per cent of all gun sales in America currently have no background checks whatsoever – meaning any crackpot or criminal can get their hands on whatever they want.

These measures, which will be resisted every step of the way, won’t stop all gun crime. Nor all mass shootings. There are too many guns out there, and too many criminals and mentally deranged people keen to use them. But the measures will at least make a start. And they will signal an intent to tackle this deadly scourge on American life.

Obama should follow up by launching a Government buy-back for all existing assault weapons in circulation (as worked successfully in Los Angeles last week). I would go further, confiscating the rest and enforcing tough prison sentences on those who still insist on keeping one.

Either you ban these assault weapons completely, and really mean it, or you don’t.

He should also significantly increase federal funding for mental health treatment for all Americans who need it. It’s the lethal cocktail of mental instability and ready gun availability that is the key component in almost every American mass shooting.

Nor do I think Hollywood or makers of violent video games should avoid any responsibility – their graphic images can surely only twist an already twisted mind.

I will not stop in my own efforts to keep the gun-control debate firmly in people’s minds, however much abuse I’m subjected to.

And let me say that for every American who has attacked me on Twitter, Facebook or Fox News this past week, I’ve had many more thank me and encourage me to continue speaking out – including one lady who came up to me in Manhattan just before Christmas, grabbed my arm, and said firmly: ‘I’m with you. A lot of us are with you.’

I genuinely think Sandy Hook will act as a tipping point. A Gallup poll released on Thursday showed that  58 per cent of Americans now support new gun-control laws, up from 43 per cent in 2011. That’s a big jump.

The ‘more guns, less crime’ argument is utter nonsense. Britain, after Dunblane, introduced some of the toughest gun laws in Europe, and we average just 35 gun murders a year.

Japan, which has the toughest gun control in the world, had just TWO in 2006 and averages fewer than 20 a year. In Australia, they’ve not had a mass shooting since stringent new laws were brought in after 35 people were murdered in the country’s worst-ever mass shooting in Tasmania in 1996. Fewer guns equals less gun murder. This is not a ‘pinko liberal’ hypothesis. It’s a simple fact.

In conclusion, I can spare those Americans who want me deported a lot of effort by saying this: If you don’t change your gun laws to at least try to stop this relentless tidal wave of murderous carnage, then you don’t have to worry about deporting me.

Although I love the country as a second home and one that has treated me incredibly well, I would, as a concerned parent first – and latterly, of a one-year-old daughter who may attend an American elementary school like Sandy Hook in three years’ time – seriously consider deporting myself.

COMMENTARY JUST BEFORE THE MAYAN 2012 APOCALYPSE FAILED SO WOEFULLY

[caption id="attachment_1519" align="aligncenter" width="500"]COMMENTARY BEFORE THE 2012 APOCALYPSE FAILED WOEFULLY RAPTURE?[/caption]

With rumors of a Mayan apocalypse making the rounds online and at the water cooler, when do we know the world is out of danger from the various astronomical and other cataclysms claimed by some to spell doom?

Some have pegged the end on 12/21/12 at the moment of the winter solstice, which at one point had been estimated by the U.S. Naval Observatory to take place at 11:11 UTC, or 6:11 a.m. EST. The Northern Hemisphere’s winter solstice, when the top half of the planet (everything north of the equator) will face away from the sun, actually occurred at 11:12 UTC, or 6:12 a.m. EST. Either way, the moment has ticked by, and the world is still here.

Today does mark an end, to the 13th 144,000-day cycle (called a b’ak’tun) of the ancient Mayan Long Count Calendar. The least worried about this rumored doomsday date? The Mayas.

Their calm comes amidst some particularly startling freakouts elsewhere: Chinese farmers making “doomsday escape pods;” NASA being flooded with worried phone calls; and supposedly mystical mountains in Europe getting overrun with apocalypse tourists. Oh yeah, and some kids got two days off school. In Michigan, two counties cancelled classes Thursday and Friday, citing both fears about school violence after the elementary school shooting in Connecticut last week and rumors about the end of the world causing distraction, according to CBS Detroit. [Mayan Doomsday (Not): Coverage & Countdown]

This week in the northwestern province of Qinghai, the government arrested more than 400 members of a doomsday-preaching group called the Church of the Almighty God, confiscating computers, banners, books, cellphones and other items, The Guardian reported.

Like many rumored doomsdays — from a 1910 scare tied to Halley’s Comet and a doomy divination by televangelist Pat Robertson in 1982 to TV preacher Harold Camping’s 2011 claim — that have come and gone, this one seems to have left Earth unscarred. Even so, social scientists have said the Mayan apocalypse does stand out from the rest. Most past scares have been sparked by charismatic leaders issuing divine proclamations. The Dec. 21 scare, however, was more of a grassroots prediction that seemed to pop up almost entirely online.

But where did it come from? Dec. 21 on the Western calendar likely corresponds to the end of the 13th b’ak’tun of the Mayan Long Count Calendar, one of three calendars the ancient Maya used to count time. The calendar works by counting first days, then 20-day chunks of time, then 260-day periods and 7,200-day periods. Ticking up like a car odometer, the calendar finally keeps track of 144,000-day blocks of time called b’ak’tuns.

continuing the cycle, 20 tuns become one ka’tun (7,200 days total) and 20 ka’tuns become one b’ak’tun (144,000 days total, or close to 400 years).

By matching Mayan calendar dates to our own calendar, researchers have concluded that Dec. 21, 2012, is the likely date for the last day of the 13th b’ak’tun. (Dec. 23 or Dec. 24 are other possibilities, thanks to different units on the calendar turning over at different times of day.)

Written in modern translation, that makes Dec. 21, in Mayan date, 13.0.0.0.0. Tomorrow, Dec. 22 will be 13.0.0.0.1. The ancient Maya believed that 13 b’ak’tuns represented one full cycle of creation, but they did not predict the world would come to an end. In fact, their calendar includes some rarely used units of time even larger than b’ak’tuns that would have allowed the Maya to count millions of years into the future, had their empire not crumbled around A.D. 900.

ROBIN VAN PERSIE,PLEASE WHO IS TCHUNA?

Revealed: Manchester United’s Robin vanPersie’s T-shirt goal tribute was to ‘close friend’who died 24

hours before game – as Twitter  goes mad speculating over who Tchuna was.

After netting his side’s second and final goal in Manchester United’s 2-0 home victory against West Bromwich Albion, star striker Robin van Persie revealed a tribute on a T-shirt.

In the hours after the game, mystery surrounded who the message ‘R.I.P. Tchuna We Will Never Forget You’ was relating to with a number of social networking websites and news sites and football forums speculating their own theories.

Manchester United Football Club have since contacted Mail Online saying that the message related to a close friend of the £24m man who had died 24-hours before the game.

Sky Sports have also reported the same line.

However, it appears Twitter and Facebook users refuse to be convinced by that information, and until the Dutchman reveals it himself, it seems the rumour mill will continue into overdrive.

Discussion on Twitter has led many to believe it is actually the name of the Indian girl who was gang raped and later died as a result of her injuries in a Singapore hospital.

While others have put forward the theory that it is the name of the Dutch linesman who was beaten and kicked to death while officiating at a junior football game in Holland.

The fact his name has been revealed as Richard Nieuwenhuizen may well dispel that theory.

The former Arsenal hitman climbed off the bench to fire a spectacular 90-minute strike that sealed a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

United sit top of the Premier League, seven points clear of fierce rivals Manchester City, who sit second.

The goal was van Persie’s 16th in the league this year, comfortably the club’s top-scorer so far.

HOW WAEC,NECO AND JAMB SET OR MARK EXAM PAPERS

[caption id="attachment_1549" align="aligncenter" width="498"] HOW WAEC/NECO AND NIGERIAN JAMB SET AND MARK EXAM PAPERS
mason college...award ceremony

1.WE HAVE OFTEN HEARD STUDENTS MAKING WILD ALLEGATIONS THAT UTME, WAEC OR NECO ARE THEIR WORST ENEMIES. SOME IN FACT, SEE THE OFFICIALS OF THESE BODIES AS WICKED SOULS SCHEMING DAY AND NIGHT DEVISING WAYS FOR  FAILING THEM. HOW CORRECT ARE THESE ASSERTIONS? THE FACTS BELOW SPEAKS FOR THEMSELVES!

2.THE TASKS OF SETTING AN EXAMINATION PAPER BEGINS LONG BEFORE THE EXAMINATION DAY, INDEED, MONTHS OR YEARS BEFORE THEN. SEASONED EXPERTS IN  VARIOUS SUBJECTS ARE GIVEN THE TEACHING AND EXAMINATION SYLLABUSES AND REQUESTED TO SET QUESTIONS. THESE ARE COMPILED FOR SUBSEQUENT SCRUTINY. THEN A SECOND SET OF EXPERTS ARE INVITED TO EXAMINE THE QUESTIONS CRITICALLY, MAKE NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS AND COME UP WITH QUESTIONS THAT CONFORM TO ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS. THE RESULT OF THIS EXERCISE IS A SET OF POLISHED AND MOSTLY UNAMBIGUOUS QUESTIONS THAT ARE VERY FAIR TO THOSE BEING EXAMINED. THESE QUESTIONS ARE THEN SECURELY STORED.

3.THE NEXT STAGE IS THE REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES. THIS STAGE INVOLVES NOT JUST THE EXAMINING BODY, BUT ALSO THE CANDIDATES, THEIR PARENTS, THEIR TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS AND SOME OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. THIS IS SO BECAUSE APART FROM THE CANDIDATES HAVING TO SUPPLY NECESSARY INFO  FOR WAEC AND NECO THEIR PRINCIPALS HAVE TO ENDORSE THEM WHILE THE PARENTS HAVE TO PROVIDE THE REGISTRATION FEES. ANY MISTAKE OR INACTIVITY ON THE PART OF ANY OF THESE MAY RUIN THE CHANCES OF CANDIDATES. IF THE CANDIDATES MAKE MISTAKES IN INFORMATION SUPPLIED OR IF THE PRINCIPAL DOES NOT FORWARD THE REGISTRATION FEES AT THE RIGHT TIME THEIR CHANCES IN THE EXAMINATION MAY BE JEOPARDIZED.

4.NEXT IS THE CONDUCT OF THE EXAMINATION ITSELF AGAIN, MORE OFFICIALS FROM OUTSIDE THE EXAMINATION BODIES THAN FROM WITHIN THEM ARE INVOLVED.THINK OF THE SUPERVISORS, THE INVIGILATORS, AND EVEN THE SECURITY OFFICIALS. THEY ARE DEFINITELY MORE IN NUMBER THAN THE STAFF OF THE EXAMINING BODIES  AND ANY ONE OF THEM CAN TAKE AN ACTION THAT MIGHT RESULT IN THE FAILURE OF CANDIDATES.TAKE THE INVIGILATOR FOR INSTANCE. IF HE IS NEGLIGENT CANDIDATES COULD SWAP ANSWER SCRIPTS UNDER HIS VERY NOSE AND WHEN THIS IS DETECTED BY THE MARKERS AS IS OFTEN THE CASE IN WAEC/NECO EXAMS. THE RESULTS OF THE CANDIDATES MAY BE WITHHELD OR EVENTUALLY CANCELLED.

5.PROBABLY, THE MOST HATED WAEC/NECO PERSON TO THE CANDIDATE IS THE MARKER WHOM THEY, IN THEIR IGNORANCE, REGARD AS A WICKED DRUNKARD WHO DELIGHTS IN FAILING CANDIDATES. WHAT CANDIDATES DO NOT REALIZE IS THAT AN EXAMINER IS TRAINED TO SCORE POINTS STRICTLY ACCORDING TO A CAREFULLY PREPARED MARKING SCHEME FROM WHICH HE MUST NOT DEVIATE. IT IS HIS CONSTITUTION. BESIDES, HIS WORK IS CONSISTENTLY CHECKED BY THE TEAM LEADER AND WITHOUT ACCURACY HE COULD BE REMOVED/ AND BLACKLISTED. SO CONTRARY TO STUDENTS’ OPINIONS THE EXAMINER IS A SEASONED TEACHER, A CAREFUL SCORER, A PERSON ALWAYS ON HIS GUARD.

6.THE FINAL STAGE IN ALL THE EXAMS COMES WITH THE COLLATION OF RESULTS. THIS STAGE IS MAINLY COMPUTERIZED AND COMPUTERS DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES EXCEPT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THEIR PROGRAMMING. A CANDIDATE’S RESULT MAY NOT BE PROCESSED IF HE IS INVOLVED IN MALPRACTICE, HAS USED A WRONG EXAMINATION NUMBER OR NO NUMBER AT ALL OR IF IN WAEC/NECO, HE FAILS TO WRITE ALL THE PAPERS. SO, WHEN A RESULT IS WITHHELD THE FAULT IS MOSTLY THAT OF THE CANDIDATE.

7. HOW THEN SHOULD WE VIEW THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PUBLIC EXAMINING BODIES? DEFINITELY, WE SHOULD VIEW THEM WITH UNDERSTANDING, SYMPATHY AND APPRECIATION.WE SHOULD ALSO NOTE THESE PROCESSES TO STIMULATE AND MOTIVATE US TO BETTER PERFORMANCE.

A MUST READ! SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ON THE DAY OF RAPTURE

A MUST READ! SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ON THE DAY OF RAPTURE

A few Sundays ago, I was in church….During the service, my mind left the church momentarily.By the time i returned, i came back with this…enjoy!
Its Sunday morning:
The maddening rush for church begins.

Alarms wake up sleepy heads.Hurried baths, skipped breakfast.
Families, friends, neighbors tucked into cars.
Commuters rushing for the next available vehicle.
Rush. Rush. Rush.

Its Sunday morning.
Bible-clutching believers are going to worship.

The traffic at church entrance.
Traffic control folks have a fit controlling traffic.
Drivers break traffic instructions to get into church early.
Ushers manage to direct worshipers to seats which many refuse for better seat options.
Brethren hug and shake hands.
The children in their Sunday school classes.
Everyone looks saintly and beautifully dressed Service begins….
The excitement. The frenzy of praise. The beauty of worship.

The dance. The claps. The tears.

The holy hands lifted to the One we claim to know and serve and worship.
The choir does a fantastic job of singing God’s praise.
Its a very full house. Hall packed beyond capacity.
Many are outside, seated. Inside is too full.
From the altar to the pews, God is in the house. …SUDDENLY…
…a loud trumpet sound…deafening…frightening too… Minutes later…
…..the church is still full..
Just a few empty seats.
Pastors are still here.
Just a handful missing.
The choir-clutching microphones are here, just a few seats are empty.
The ushers still have a large crowd to direct.
The traffic control is still controlling vehicles, the occupants still intact.

Just a few are missing…one or two crashes too.

The children church is totally EMPTY!
The elders’ stand is almost empty too.
People begin working their phones. Frantic calls are made.
This doesn’t look too good at all.
What is going on?
Isn’t this supposed to be the haven for the saints?
The church is still full. Almost everyone is here! Fear. Chaos. Confusion. Tears. Anxiety. Dread.

Wailing. Gnashing of teeth. Shame. Embarrassment.

Many go on their knees to pray….
Church people turn to pastor for answers…
People are screaming, running helter-skelter… “…RISE ON YOUR FEET AND LET US BEGIN TO PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF THIS NATION…”
That was the voice of the pastor that jolted me to reality.
And once again, i am back in the church building.
…Church Service continues…

COMMENT

Please note the following….created on 29th of october…current status is locked…registry status is “transfer prohibited”…why? arrangement with registrars or under investigations? But here is what another website had to say about earnite

stfmonitor.com

EARNITE………Start Up : 46 Days Ago.       Listed : 46 Days       BlackListed : 43 Days       Life Time : 3 Days

So legally, earnite is not even supposed to be doing any business yet it is being ranked by Alexa.Today its ranking has jumped to 140633 from above 350,000 internationally and 821 in Nigeria where it never existed.ALL THIS BETTER RANKING ACHIEVED BY FAKE TRAFFIC BASED ON ITS NOTORIETY.Alexa needs to decide whether earnite is a good example to other website owners or not.
